Category questions (unbranded prompts)

The questions that do not contain the company's name but should make it appear: "which X suppliers", "where to apply in industry Y".

Category questions (or unbranded prompts) are those that do not contain the company's name but concern its category: "which are the best [industry] companies in [country]", "which [product] should I choose for [need]", "where should I apply as a [role]". They are the questions in which shortlists form, and in which a company can be entirely absent despite correct branded answers.

In the GEO Assessment they make up, with branded, comparison and risk questions, the fixed set put to five engines and repeated in the re-analysis. Presence in category questions depends on the sources models use for rankings: directories, comparison articles, communities, aggregated reviews.
