A company being proposed as an option in a choice question: which supplier, where to apply, whom to invest in.
A recommendation is the highest level of presence in a generative answer: the model proposes the company as an option in a choice question ("which X suppliers do you recommend", "where should I apply", "which product should I choose"). It is the level that moves decisions, and the one with the fewest slots: an answer recommends three or four names on average.
Recommendations form on the sources models use for rankings: category directories, comparison articles, communities, aggregated reviews. A company that is correct and positive in branded questions can be entirely absent from category questions: it is the most frequent outcome of brand and sales assessments.
