GEO Observatory: what AI says about companies, one industry at a time

The GEO Observatory measures, one industry at a time, what generative AI engines say about the leading companies operating in Italy. Each edition takes twenty companies from one industry and asks five engines the same questions about all of them: who gets cited, for which questions, with which sources, and how old the facts the AI tells are.

Method

• Sample: twenty of the leading companies of the industry in Italy, chosen by size.
• Questions: twenty-four per company, in Italian, on the name, the category, comparisons and risks, through the lens of the audience that matters in that industry: candidates, customers, buyers or investors.
• Engines: ChatGPT, Gemini with AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot. 2,400 answers per edition, collected with the ReputAction platform.
• Indicators: presence in answers, accuracy of facts, cited sources and their age, recurring dated narratives, share of voice in category questions.
• Re-run at 90 days: the same set on the same engines, to see what has changed.

What we publish

Each edition has a page with results company by company, the map of the sources that weigh in the industry and the main figures, collected in a press release reusable with attribution. The answers are the ones the AI engines give, not our judgements, and the method is the same for every company. Every company in the sample can ask us for its full extract, with answers and sources.

Calendar

Editions cover a new industry roughly every two months, alternating with the 90-day re-runs. The industry and date of each edition are announced here.
