IndexNow

The protocol with which a website instantly notifies Bing and participating engines of new or changed pages.

IndexNow is an open protocol with which a website notifies participating engines (Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam and others; not Google) of every URL created, changed or removed, instead of waiting for the crawler to discover it. A notification to one participating engine is shared with all the others.

For GEO it matters because the Bing index is what ChatGPT with web search and Copilot read: a page notified via IndexNow enters the index in hours instead of weeks, and becomes citable sooner. Activation requires a key published on the website and a call at every publication; on generated sites, like this one, it is part of the deployment process.
